FAQ ECO

Question: Can I connect tamper (contact) to ECO?

Answer: Yes, tamper contact is available for retrofitting in ECO M and ECO FLX S.

Question: How long lifetime does a battery have?

Answer: It depends on many things. Ambient temperature (20°C - 25°C is optimal), how much the batteries are charged and how much they are used. It also depends on the brand of batteries. Milleteknik recommends UPLUS batteries, they have the best operational reliability and these are the batteries we use when we design our units.

Question: Why does the brand of batteries matter?

Answer: Although the technology is the same in AGM lead-acid batteries, its performance varies depending on the composition and quality of the components.

When will I receive a mains failure alarm?

Alarms for malfunctions such as power failure alarms occur when the voltage has dropped to 26.5V (24V system) or 13.15V (12V system).

How do I get the Low battery voltage alarm? I have disconnected the batteries but I don't get an alarm?

Low battery voltage is when the system voltage drops below 24.5V in battery operation. In order for the card to alarm for low battery voltage, JU2 must be jumpered. JU2 is NOT jumpered by default.

How much load can the unit handle?

The average current consumption must not exceed 80% of the power supply's specific action. for example 0.8A out of 1A.

What batteries can I have in the device?

See product sheet for compatible batteries.

Can the unit be mounted in a 19" rack? The unit cannot be mounted in a 19" rack.

Letter

Explanation

A

The fuse cable is connected to the positive terminal of the battery.

B

Plus cable, which has double pins, from the circuit board is connected directly to the battery-plus and one of the fuse's cables.

C

Fuse between positive terminals on the two batteries.

D

Battery fuse on motherboard.

E

Battery cables from motherboard.

F

Minus cable, which has a double pin, from the circuit board is connected to the battery minus and one of the fuse cables.

G

The other cable of the fuse is connected to the negative terminal of the battery.

H

Fuse between negative terminals on the two batteries.

Left ECO 12V with 1 battery. Right ECO 12 V with two batteries.

12 V with a battery: Battery cables from motherboard are connected to battery plus and minus pole. Battery fuse is on circuit board.

12 V with two batteries: Battery cables from motherboard are connected to battery plus and minus pole of each battery. Fuses must be connected to each battery pole. A fuse on minus poles and a fuse on plus poles.

Note

Fuses that come with the device in a bag should not be used when using 1 battery.
