The RACK series is primarily used to power external alarm devices in fire alarm systems where an SBF110:8 approved or EN54-4 certified battery backup is required. Battery backups in the RACK series offer high flexibility, advanced alarm functions, long standby times, and can handle heavy loads.
RACK features intelligent charging, which means that when the batteries are fully charged, they will be electronically set to standby mode for up to 20 days or until the battery voltage reaches 53.4 V. By discharging the batteries in a controlled manner and charging them cyclically (instead of leaving them unused), the lifespan is extended by up to 50%. The batteries are automatically connected in less than 50 microseconds when needed.
The battery backup also performs battery tests to notify when batteries need to be replaced.
To maintain certification, UPLUS 10+ Design Life AGM batteries must be used.
The display provides information about the system’s:
- Voltage: Minimum, average, and maximum voltage.
- Current: Minimum, average, and maximum current.
- Temperature: Minimum, average, and maximum temperature.
- Runtime during power outages.
For battery connection, we recommend the Battery Shelf floor, which has space for four 150 Ah front terminal batteries, and the Battery Panel 48V for connecting batteries to the battery backup.
Mounting: 19” rack.
Installation and commissioning: Fixed installation.
Battery types: UPLUS 10+ Design Life AGM batteries.
Battery shelves: One to four battery shelves, each with space for four 150 Ah batteries, or a floor-mounted battery shelf.
Typical applications:
- External alarm devices
- Voice evacuation alarm
