The EN54 series is mainly used to operate external alarm devices in fire alarms where an SBF110:8 approved or EN54-4 certified battery backup is required. The EN54 family of battery backups has high flexibility, advanced alarm features, long spare operating times and high load handling. The EN54 has intelligent charging which means that when the batteries are fully charged, they will be put in electronic standby mode for up to 20 days or when the battery voltage has reached 53.4 V. By discharging the batteries in a controlled way and recharging them cyclically (instead of not using them), the service life is extended by up to 50%. The batteries automatically connect in less than 50 microseconds, if needed. The battery backup also performs battery tests to be able to notify when batteries need to be replaced. To maintain certificates, UPLUS 10+ Design Life AGM batteries shall be used. The display shows information about the system’s:
- Voltage: Minimum, medium and maximum voltage.
- Power: Minimum, medium, and maximum current.
- Temperature: Minimum, medium and maximum temperatures.
- Uptime in the event of a power failure.
For connection of batteries we recommend Battery Shelf floor which has room for four 150 Ah front terminal batteries and Battery Panel 48V for connection of batteries to battery backup. Mounting: 19″ rack. Installation and Deployment: Fixed Installation. Battery types: UPLUS 10+ Design Life AGM batteries. Battery shelves: One to four battery shelves with room for four 150 Ah batteries on each battery shelf, or floor battery shelf. Typical uses:
